Star Wars collectible gift cards

Star Wars gift cards are one of my current collecting focuses (foci). If I outbid you on eBay, I apologize in advance!

What is a Gift Card?

If it talks like a duck...

"Gift card" can be defined as an anonymous, closed-loop, stored-value cash card, usually without guarantee or recourse. What does all that mean?

Anonymous – no personal information is stored on or with the card.
Closed-loop – issued by and/or usable at one retailer
Stored-value – this is actually a misnomer. There is no value stored "on" the card; the only thing stored on the card is an identification number (like a credit card number).
No guarantee – if the retailer goes out of business, the card loses its value.
No recourse – if you lose the card, there's no way to retrieve its value.

The bottom line is, you pay money up-front to the retailer, they assign an ID number associated with that amount of money, the ID number is stored on the card, they allow you to present the card at time of payment and use any amount of the pre-paid funds, they allow you to add more funds to the stored amount, and they keep track of how much of the money you have used and how much remains.

A gift card must be made of stiff plastic in order to ensure the physical security of the medium that stores the identification number. This can be a magnetic strip, a printed barcode, or an embedded RFID chip.

There are variations of the above definitions that can be features of a card yet we can still call it a gift card. For example:

A card that does not allow you to add funds to the balance after the initial deposit.
A card not backed by money, but by products such as song downloads or in-game currency.

There are variations of the above definitions that stop us from being able to call a card a gift card. For example:

There is no monetary value – the card only provides a discount on goods or services.
There is no monetary value – the card only serves to prove membership in a group.
The card is not made of plastic, but some less-secure material such as laminated paper.

I store my gift card collection in albums, which is visually appealing and interesting to page through. To make this display even more attractive, I'm happy to expand and be generous with my definition of "gift card", which enables greater quantity and variety of cards and related materials. Besides, collectors like to collect, and the more items there are to collect, the more fun we can have in the hobby.

I have divided the vast array of card-adjacent collectibles into two categories, presented below in tables of 1. gift cards and 2. everything else. Note that you can click the thumbnail to see a larger image.
